The Lannyte company was founded in 1984 by the late Bob Silverman when he noticed the jewelry industry shifting heavily towards mass production of gems at the cost of quality and ethics.
He noticed that man made rough material, with its cost effectiveness, would allow for more money to be spent on the cutting and polishing of stones using highly skilled artisan craftsmanship and the latest technology.
Mr. Silverman had a vision that the beauty of any natural stone need not be reserved exclusively for the wealthy among us, and that such beauty should not be possessed at the cost of our environment.
To fulfill this dream, he searched the world for the best man-made rough material and finest cutters for years…
Once he found the set of Laboratories which produced the highest caliber raw materials with just the right hues, he went on to focus on the production aspect to turn the rough material into the finest gems.
After much trial and error, perfected the craft of stone making and this is when the Lannyte Gemstone was born…
What separates Lannyte from any other Man-made gemstone source is our commitment to holding each and every gem to the same standards as its earth mined counterpart. From rough selection all the way to hand cutting and polishing and even storage, we spare no expense to make sure our gems are crafted and treated, step-by-step, precisely the same as the most expensive earth mined gems.
Our vision is singular: The only differentiating factor between the beauty of a Lannyte gemstone and the most expensive earth mined gemstone will be the location it was created, one in the lab and the other mined from the earth
